Atlanta, Ga Senior Pictures

Have a senior in your house? How special is that?! Before you start digging through their closet or going on an all day shopping spree for clothes for their senior pictures, we have all the tips you need on what your senior should wear for their senior pictures!

What Should Your Senior Wear During Their Senior Session?

1. Your senior should wear clothes that reflect their personal style and make them feel the most confident! They want to be comfortable and make them feel like themselves to capture this meaningful time in their lives!

2. We always suggest seniors wear different types of outfits throughout their session to capture both more casual and dressier looks.

3. Avoid clothes with any bold patterns or logos, because they can be distracting and take away from the main focus in the photo, your senior :)

4. Layering and accessorizing will be your senior's best friend! Something as simple as adding a layer or adding a hat can give one outfit more variety!

5. Choose clothing that complements the session's location. If the shoot is outdoors, consider clothes that coordinate with what's around. For example, if there's hot pink flowers in the background, definitely break out the hot pink dress! Or if you're by a lake, try neutral colors or blue tones.

6. Lastly (and most importantly), coordinate with your photographer about what to wear for the session. They may have some suggestions based on the location. At Jena Golden Photography, we do a pre-session Zoom style consult to go over the senior's outfit choices to best coordinate with the locations so we have a plan for the day and everyone feels prepared and ready to go! :)

Pro Tip: Book your senior's session during a season that most fits them. Do they love sun dresses? Spring or summer may be best for them. Or do they love shackets, ripped jeans, and boots? Fall or winter would be better!

Are Senior Pictures From A Professional Photographer Worth The Investment?

Let's talk about that.

Your child's senior pictures aren't "just for fun" or something to post to social media.  Their senior portrait experience should be a celebration of this important milestone in your kiddo's life!  These portraits will serve as their high school legacy.  They will be looked at by their own children and grandchildren one day.
